Abstract

The paper analyses some language features that present various deviations from antonymic symmetrics: (1) absence of the positive antonymic pair member, (2) apparent antonymy, (3) collocational stratification of antonymic pair members, (4) obsence of the intermediate member in gradation antonyms, and (5) deantonymisation.
