Southeastern European Medical Journal (SEEMEDJ) is a diamond open access regional, peer reviewed, scientific and professional journal published by the University of Osijek Faculty of Medicine. It is published semi-annually.
Southeastern European Medical Journal (SEEMEDJ) provides immediate open access to its content under the diamond open access model, meaning that all articles are freely available to readers without subscription or payment, and no article processing charges (APCs) are required from authors.
The journal supports the principle that making research freely available to the public fosters a greater global exchange of knowledge and promotes scientific advancement.
The articles are available on our web page as well as in HRCAK and DOAJ.
Guidelines for authors is in accordance with the text: International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE). Uniform Requirements for Manuscript (URM) Submitted to Biomedical Journals. The journal adheres to internationally recognized ethical standards, including the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Editorial practice
All submissions are single-blinded peer-reviewed before a decision on publication is reached. Resposibilities and rights of editors (review and publication process) are in accordance with the text: Council of Science Editors (CSE). Editorial Policy Statements.
All manuscripts are considered to be confidental.
Editor-in-Chief reads every manuscript received and assigns its a general priority level: a) manuscript sent to reviewers immediately; b) manuscript returned to authors with suggestions for modification and improvement; c) rejected manuscripts. Editor-in-Chief read the revised manuscript. If the manuscript is improved adequately, it is sent to two reviewers (anonimuously) for the review and to statistical review, if warranted. Authors are welcome to suggest up to five potential reviewers for their manuscript (stated in Cover letter), excluding co-authors or collaborators for the last three years, or to ask for the exclusion of reviewer(s) and the reasons for it. The Editor-in-Chief's decision is final.
