The global spread of COVID-19 brought to the lime light the lack of public goods in Uganda during the fight against this contagious virus. The public servants demonstrated selfishness at the expense of fostering services for the majority of Ugandans. Thus, a cross-sectional qualitative approach was used to collect data from the private primary school teachers. Data were collected from 12 participants using an interview guide. The study findings demonstrate how public interest was lost during attempts to curb the spread of the pandemic. Researchers call for additional scholarship pertaining to reviving the lost common preferences in times of pandemics, particularly the coronavirus.
