About the Journal

Acta Turistica is strategically oriented towards connecting the Croatian and global tourism research community, its academics, practitioners and students. It is intended to encourage deliberations on pertinent issues. Its multidisciplinary orientation is evident from the composition of the Editorial Board, which consists of renowned scholars, including 17 fellows of the International Academy for the Study of Tourism, covering a variety of research areas such as economics, management, finance, geography, as well as anthropology and sociology. 

By publishing the journal in a bilingual format, the aim is to globally disseminate the scientific ideas and insights of Croatian researchers in the field of tourism, and to make the work of scientists from around the world more accessible to the domestic scientific and professional public. Acta Turistica is dedicated to continuously promoting linguistic diversity by enriching and updating professional and scientific tourism terminology in the Croatian language. The journal publishes a wide range of papers from various scientific disciplines related to tourism, such as economics, geography, sociology, anthropology, psychology and other fields. It strategically focuses on connecting the Croatian and global tourism research community – researchers, practitioners and students  – thereby encouraging interdisciplinarity and multidisciplinarity in researching current issues in the tourism system. Acta Turistica is indexed, among others, in the Scopus and WoS-ESCI databases and provides open access to its content, guided by the principle that research results freely available to the public support a more intensive global exchange of knowledge.
