Original Scientific Paper
An original scientific paper presents theoretical and practical findings of fundamental or applied research. It reports original scientific results for the first time and provides a comprehensive, in-depth account of a fully completed study or of completed phases that are not expected to produce further significant results. The research must be reproducible, and its findings verifiable through testing.
Preliminary Communication
A preliminary communication is a short article presenting initial scientific research findings that, due to their topical relevance, warrant rapid publication. It reports one or more novel research results without providing a comprehensive overview of the subject. Its primary purpose is to establish authorship of partial research outcomes. However, it does not contain sufficient detail to enable replication or verification of the reported results.
Scientific Subject Review
A scientific subject review provides a comprehensive overview of a specific area or problem through critical analysis and evaluation. While grounded in previously published research, it also incorporates new analyses, syntheses, relationships, and/or hypotheses for further investigation. The cited literature should be sufficiently extensive to offer a thorough understanding of the field under review. Its systematic approach, evaluative commentary, conclusions, and presentation of both original and external research findings give it a clear instructional and scholarly purpose.
Book Review
A Book Review provides a critical overview of international and Croatian publications issued within the past two years. These concise contributions, authored by recognized experts, are not subject to peer review or formal categorization. All submissions must receive prior approval from the journal’s Book Review Editor.
Conference Review
Conference reviews provide summaries of international and Croatian conferences held within the last two years that have published scientific proceedings or books of abstracts. These concise contributions, authored by esteemed scholars, are neither peer-reviewed nor formally categorized. All submissions must be pre-approved by the journal’s Book Review Editor.
Review of Doctoral Dissertation
Reviews of doctoral dissertations defended in the current year must include the dissertation title, the supervising mentor, and the examination committee. These brief contributions, authored by PhD holders, are neither peer-reviewed nor formally categorized. All submissions must receive prior approval from the journal’s Book Review Editor.
