Mission and Vision of the Journal
The Journal of the Istrian Archives, published by the State Archives in Pazin, is a scientific journal. The journal primarily publishes scientific papers on the broadest issues of the history of Istria from the point of view of various social and humanistic disciplines, based for the most part on research into original archives stored in the State Archives in Pazin or in foreign Archives which hold archives of Istrian provenance. Apart from such papers, the Journal also publishes other contributions of scientific and professional interest: transcriptions and transliterations of smaller sections of the original documents, professional papers in the field of archival science, reports and notes on the activities of the State Archives in Pazin, peer reviews, reviews of books and periodicals, overviews, notices, obituaries and the like. Owing to the support of numerous collaborators, the financial support of the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia and some towns and municipalities of the Istrian County, the journal is published once a year. Vjesnik istarskog arhiva is indexed in the international bibliographic databases ERIH PLUS and DOAJ, on the Croatian portal of scientific and professional journals Hrčak, and is recognized as an A2 journal in the scientific evaluation system of the Republic of Croatia.
