Abstract

This thesis examines the emergence of the monetary institution building type in Croatian architecture and determines its fundamental elements. By analysing Zagreb examples in relation to the spatial context and the historical context of Vienna and Budapest, it defines and contextualizes a new architectural typology, enhancing our understanding of the role of Croatian architects and their monetary institution buildings in shaping Zagreb’s urban identity.
