CJAIM awarded Diamond Open Access status by Hrčak

25-05-2026

The Croatian Journal of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Medicine (CJAIM; ISSN 3102-3584 Print, ISSN 3102-4025 Online) has been awarded the Diamond Open Access designation in the first evaluation cycle conducted by Hrčak — the Croatian central portal of open-access scientific and professional journals — with confirmed compliance with all criteria for inclusion in Hrčak.

The evaluation was conducted between April and May 2026, applying both Hrčak's inclusion criteria and the criteria of the Diamond Discovery Hub (DDH). The next evaluation cycle is scheduled for 2027.

Criteria fulfilled for Diamond Open Access status:

active journal status and active editorial contact e-mail

ISSN (Print and Online)

peer-reviewed scientific journal operating under a defined double-blind review policy

open access to all articles, published under open licences

no article processing charges for authors (APC = 0)

open to all authors, without geographical or institutional restrictions

community-owned journal

Additional Hrčak criteria fulfilled:

editorial infrastructure (editorial board, instructions for authors, peer review policy, article categorisation, article metadata, masthead), open access to articles, and demonstrated affiliation with the Republic of Croatia.

The Diamond model means that neither authors nor readers bear any financial burden — the dual barrier in scientific communication is fully removed. This certification confirms CJAIM's foundational mission: an open platform serving the clinical and scientific community in anaesthesiology, intensive care medicine, and related disciplines.
