Abstract

The geospatial discipline is undergoing significant transformation, yet it still lacks a unified global identity. The cited article presents the FIG Worldwide Web Map Viewer for Geomatics Studies. The viewer includes approximately 700 universities and enables the analysis of curriculum trends while strengthening the professional identity of geomatics engineering. According to ISO/TC 211, geomatics encompasses collection, distribution and analysis of geographic data, although it is often confused with geodesy or geoinformatics. The cited author highlights six key pillars of geomatics engineering: geoinformation, georeferencing, Earth observation, geoinformatics, geovisualization, and territorial administration. The FIG viewer provides access to study programme data, curricula, and campus locations, while fostering international cooperation and student exchange. For Croatia, programmes in Zagreb, Split, and Varaždin are included, with a note on the possibility of supplementing or correcting certain data.
