Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

Author Guidelines
All manuscripts must be submitted online using Open Journal Systems. The whole manuscript should be prepared according to Article Template.
All manuscripts must be written in English, produced electronically, and be PC-compatible, and submitted both in their original file format as DOC (MS Word) files, and in PDF format. The paper title must be brief (no more than eight words), informative, and descriptive of the theme treated in the paper. The paper must be devoid of interrogatory or exclamatory sentences, and the authors should restrain from formulating a particular thesis. The title should be followed by author(s) name, professional scientific degree, affiliation, and full address. If there are more authors, the corresponding author must be indicated.
The articles must be preceded by an abstract (summary) in which the author will briefly describe the theme treated, procedures applied, and results obtained. The abstract must not be longer than 200 words. Below the abstract, the author must add 5 to 7 keywords that describe the main points of the paper.
The maximum length of the paper (including text, drawings, tables, photographs, computer lists, etc.) should be 30000 letters. It may be longer if it has been previously agreed with the Editors. The paper should be subdivided into sections and, if necessary, subsections. The numbering of these should be done consecutively in Arabic numerals. The text must be prepared in A4 paper format and it should be positioned in one column and aligned to both left and right margin (justify). Chapter headings should be aligned to the left.
Figures (drawings, charts, photographs, etc.) can be black and white or in colour in JPG, TIFF, or BMP file format with a resolution of at least 300 dpi. Vector graphic produced with AutoCAD or similar software should be converted to a popular vector format (WMF, emf, SVG) or JPG, TIFF, or BMP raster format with size fitted to article format. Photographs, if any, should be prepared with inadequate resolution (300 dpi). Every figure or table should be numbered, titled, and positioned in the article. Authors must use the International System of Units for describing dimensional results in the text. While no standard system of notation is at present mandatory, it would be appreciated if matrices were designated by bold capital letters and vectors by a bold lower case letter. Symbol ( )T is to be used for transpose. Indices should be lowered or raised above the basic line. Authors are requested to define symbols as they appear in the text. Alternatively, lists of symbols may be given in Appendix.
The references used by the author must be presented at the end of the paper: the reference must not be cited in footnotes. The references must be presented in chronological order, in the order it is referred to in the text. For citations in the text please use square brackets and numbers: [1], [2]. The first citation in the text should correspond with the first name on the reference list.

Authors are required to attach separately the cover letter containing full names of all authors, e-mail addresses, their titles, and affiliations with signatures (or at least signature of the corresponding author) in which they declare that they have not submitted the paper somewhere else It is highly advisable to include the authors’ ORCID ID in the cover letter. After submission, the corresponding author will receive a confirmation e-mail, which means that the submission was successful and that the editorial office is notified that a new submission has been made. All received manuscripts are considered by the Editorial Board about their fitting into the journal's aims and scopes. After the initial evaluation, acceptable manuscripts are passed on to at least 2 experts for review, with an additional document named Paper Review Form from Guidelines for reviewers. Journal employs double-blind reviewing, where the reviewers and author remain anonymous throughout the process. The revised version is evaluated by the reviewers and the Editor-in-Chief brings a decision about final acceptance based on their suggestions. Manuscripts accepted for publication are technically edited and linguistically inspected. The version of the manuscript that is prepared for publication is sent to the authors for proofreading together with the Author's Statement about the originality of the paper and publishing ethics.
The papers deposited in CrossRef with the assigned DOI numbers are published online (http://gradst.unist.hr/eng/other/publishing/engineeringmodelling, https://hrcak.srce.hr/en/ijem) and in the print version without any fees. If an author discovers a material error or inaccuracy in published work, it is his responsibility to immediately notify the editor of the journal or publisher and cooperate with the editor to publish an erratum or supplement or correction. If the authors discover the major flaws in their work, they can retract the paper. The online version will then be marked as ’retracted by authors’ and a retraction notice will be added to the CrossRef database. All links to the retracted article will be maintained.

Moral Issues
Submission of the manuscript for publication implies that all authors who contributed intellectually to the work were listed as authors and that everyone gave their consent for its publication. By submitting the manuscript, the authors confirm that the submitted manuscript does not violate copyright rules. The author guarantees that his work has not been previously printed or is under consideration for publication in another publication. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal at the same time constitutes unethical publishing behaviour and is unacceptable. The author confirms that there are no known conflicts of interest associated with publication and there has been no significant financial support for his/her work that could have influenced its outcome. The author will draw the attention of the Editor to the facts which may be considered as potential conflicts of interest and to significant financial contributions to the manuscript. The author confirms that has given due consideration to the protection of intellectual property associated with his/her work and that there are no impediments to publication, including the timing of publication, concerning intellectual property. The author confirms that any aspect of the work covered in the manuscript that has involved either experimental animals or human patients has been conducted with the ethical approval of all relevant bodies and that such approvals are acknowledged within the manuscript. The journal collects data on authors, reviewers and editors including names and surnames, titles, contact details, etc. The processing of personal information shall always be in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The information are used only to an extent needed for publication and information that is not included in the article will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party. Data will be stored until revocation or erasure of data on the request of reviewer, editor or author(s).

Copyright and Archiving Policy
International Journal for Engineering Modelling is an open access journal. All content is immediately and freely available to anyone, anywhere. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, redistribute, print, search and link to material, and alter, transform, or build upon the material, or use them for any other lawful purpose as long as they attribute the source in an appropriate manner according to the CC BY license CC BY 4.0. Authors can archive publisher's version/PDF provided that the published source is acknowledged with appropriate bibliographic citation. The papers published in International Journal for Engineering Modelling can be deposited and self-archived in the institutional and thematic repositories providing the link to the journal's web pages and HRČAK. The journal content is archived with a long-term preservation service of National and University Library in Zagreb
